I don’t think it’s big of a story as other people are making it out to be. But yeah, it’s only human to hear your name come up in trade rumors, for a team that has younger, cost controlled replacements, and be upset about it.

The Orioles also do not have anyone, including Henderson or Rutschman, signed to long-term deals, so there is always going to be that until the Orioles can commit to the players that are going to be part of the next decade as their core.

Like I’ve been saying with the Eflin deal, yes, we did take $18m for his 2025 contract, but if you look at it as us clearing Hays off the books, Santander leaving in FA and a possible Mullins trade/non-tender, that entire contract is about paid for next year. So there still isn’t any indication on how we’re going to do this long-term, despite numerous additional advertisements and sponsorships at the stadium, including the T-Rowe Price jersey sponsorships…..which also put a big, electric advertisement on top of the main scoreboard.

While I agree with your sentiment, it’s probably not so easy to just start playing a position you’ve never played before in the middle of the season. If he had a Spring Training to adjust, it might be more realistic.
