Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Blue Jays will acquire three prospects from the Red Sox in their trade for Danny Jansen.
Cutter Coffey is one of the prospects that will be joining the Jays in the deal. The 20-year-old shortstop was a second-round selection from the 2022 draft class. He has been excelling at High-A Greenville this season and possesses a high ceiling. No word on the other two prospects yet, but the deal should be announced shortly.

I'm just glad it's a rental and doesn't really affect Kyle Teel.

Gave up 3 players to do it. I don't hate it, but I can't say I love it either.
They definitely aren’t going to get into long-term catching options with Teel on the way. He’s probably the full-time catcher a year from now.

but do you like it?
not really. he's an upgrade over McGuire, but it's not like there's a platoon fit. he does bring good framing into the equation, so there is that

I just read a site saying the Yankees get Isaac Parades, the Miami closer, and Kopech from the White Sox.

My question would be how much do we give up.

John Smoltz constantly bitching about how Yankees stadium even when doing games not in the Bronx is tiring and beyond lame at this point

This game is drunk. Bats get rolling this weekend and pitching continues to stink

Chisolm is the perfect modern Yankee. Hasn’t done anything but pimp walks like he has 4 rings.

I guess McGuire hasn’t done a lot since May-ish, but giving up three prospects for a rental catcher just doesn’t make sense to me. Obviously, you guys are not blocking Teel, but I would have thought catcher was a settled position. How long do they try to carry all three?

Run through the stop sign at 3B is one of the more baffling things in sports.

Sure, 3B coach can be wrong at times. But he's the one literally watching the play. The runner has absolutely nothing to base the decision to ignore him off of.

By blowing through you're essentially making a blind guess he's wrong haha
