Jays currently laying yet another smackdown on the Bankees! Loving that Toronto will be a big part of why NY just couldn't quite make relevancy. They were almost there, sniffing that Wild Card race, but this should put them out of their misery for good.

I'm getting a little concerned that Toronto is striking out so much against wack pitchers. They struck out like 50 times in the Astros series and have made the last two crappy Yankee starters look like their were throwing magical fast balls.

Toronto a big part on why the Yankees won't make the playoffs? What?

And also no matter what happens the Yankees are going to enter tomorrow the same amount of games out as they entered today. So yeah this game isn't exactly knocking the Yankees out of the playoffs.

Red Sox to play 30 road games and 13 home games before finishing with the Blue Jays? Yikes.

Yanks need a lot to go right for that to happen though.

Best run differential in the AL, fuckers

Of course, it's only barely more than half of the Cubs' run differential.

Weather it goes right or wrong for the Yankees, they have been fun to watch again with the youngsters the past week. It was very hard to watch a group of overaged players try to bring back their youth.

No question about it. My point was losing to the Jay's yesterday won't be the reason they make or miss the playoffs. Im not expecting them to make it

Jays needed the series win in the Bronx but this weekend against the featherheads will tell a lot about where this team is entering the stretch. Not sure how the past 2 games affected this but headed into the 2nd game in NY the Jays had the second-fewest runs scored in the AL (Angels were worst) this month while Cleveland had the most. Perfect time to turn it around.

Well, the Yankees are 3-9 this season vs. Toronto so technically he has a point at the moment.

I'm sure you can find that the Yankees record against all the top 3 in the AL East is likely under .500

Before the last series vs Boston, they were 3-6 or something like that. We're a mediocre team so yes we're going to have bad records against most of the good teams.

The Yankees are not concerned about making the playoffs. If they really were they wouldn't have traded 2 of their best players so yeah bragging about that is kind of lame when the Yankees basically waved the white flag on the season last month

I'm not really bragging about anything but keep in mind that when the Jays sucked forever the dome would fill up with local Yankee fans and others who drove from Buffalo and elsewhere near the border to make it a pseudo home game for them when they came to town (ditto for Boston). It's kinda cool for it to be the other way around for a little bit, even if anyone with half a brain realises the Yankees are obviously in rebuild mode (with a $220 mil payroll) and don't really have a prayer this season.

I wasn't talking about you bragging. I was talking about the poster from yesterday. I will just be happy if the Yankees can make September somewhat interesting and not be 8 games out.

I look at it from the bright side. We could be the Mets. Coming off a WS appearance when everyone expected them back in the playoffs and competing for a WS title but instead they're .500 and 4 GB of the 2nd WC. That is something to brag about for those who dislike the Mets.

Yep. Seems pretty obvious:

1. They are 9-3 against the Bankees. Flip that and if NY had dominated them the same, they'd be a playoff team. Their inability to handle the superior Jays has had a big impact.
2. The Jays are one of the teams ahead of them in the standings and currently the Daddy of their division.

1) The Yankees are not a good team. Expecting them to dominate one of the best teams in baseball is not realistic.

2) I think the Sox will have something to say about that.

1) Agree. Never said I expected it. You questioned my point, but now seem to agree so I guess we are on the same page after all.
2) You may be right. I'm definitely not taking the Red Sox lightly.
