Looking like a huge missed opportunity for the Yanks with the Jays, Sox, & O's (3 outs away from losing) all going down. Need to make a rally

so talk about something else, like if you can't figure out the pitcher try something different? like hit & runs , moving runners, and thinking like girardi does, asking the opposing coach to take pitcher out cause my boys can't hit him?

I love RA
Take him. Take him and I will give you half my weekly salary.

Things you can count on during an RA Dickey start:

-1 HBP

-2 HRs

-5 passed balls

-Josh Thole taking AB's

How do you win games under those circumstances? The Jays could've found better for $14 million last winter.

It was a missed opportunity for all.

Luckily for Boston and NY the Jays and O's will be brawling this weekend so somebody is gonna make up some ground.

Yeah the Yankees and Sox should be able to make up ground. Both are on the road but against bad teams. Yanks are in Tampa and Boston is in LA to face the Angels. Really no reason why both teams should not win 2 of 3 at least

tampa owns the yankees, final dagger!!!

Do you know anything? You sound like the dumb ass you are. If a 2-4 record against the Yankees is getting owned then I'm assuming teams like the Braves & Twins own most of the MLB

It's getting so tired. I don't get why Dickey is still in the rotation. He's generally terrible and requires the insertion of Thole in the lineup. Love to Jesus Montero get those AB (although I don't know if he can be trusted anymore as a catcher) or even Martin now that he's been hitting like an average pro player.

Gibbons is fixated on removing our best pitcher from the rotation. Bring Hutch up to replace Dickey instead.

Agreed. I think Hutch can still be pretty solid, though he is pretty home run prone.

Yankees made a nice trade with Chapman. He was expendable with Betances and Miller being nasty in the pen and the need for some young talent. I don't get the criticism of Girardi. He got a team that arguably wasn't playoff caliber to the playoffs last year. I'd take him over Gibbons any day.

Can't wait for the Jays-O's series.

I've oddly found myself rooting for the Yankees a lot this year. They seem to be playing someone Toronto needs knocked off everyday.

To be honest, I think Hutch probably still sucks, but I'd rather see him getting the innings than Dickey. Hutch has performed really well in the minors and earned a few starts. Dickey/Thole have been consistently pretty bad and deserve to ride pine for a while.

I would take Hutch over Dickey in a second.

They benefit from Hutch regardless - if he sucks, he's Dickey 2.0. If he can hold his own, he's got a spot and can be used as a trade chip in the off-season. They gain literally nothing with Dickey.

Agree. He's got 12 losses already (the next worst guy in the rotation has 4), has only 10 QS (worst in the rotation, even with Estrada missing time), ERA near 5, and the double whammy of Thole getting playing time every start. It's time for something different.

I really like Dickey, but we are in a tight playoff race here. Time to make some tough decisions.

Yankees need to avoid losing to teams like the Rays if they want any chance of making the WC this year.

Pedroia's having his best year (wRC+-wise) since 2011. On the other hand, he's on pace for roughly 73 GIDPs. He grounded into his 18th double play on the season, ending a huge opportunity for the Sox against Lincecum, who has walked 6 batters in 3 innings and has only thrown 33 of his 76 pitches for strikes.
