Exactly. I'm not the biggest Girardi fan but now is really not the time to bash him considering the roster we had lately. Still have no idea how he won 85 games in 2013 with that roster

This weekend can be great for the Yankees as they can make up a lot of ground. Baltimore/Toronto are playing each other and so are Houston/Detroit while the Sox go out west for a long road trip. This is really our chance to get back in the AL East race and also make up some serious ground on the 2nd WC spot.

Wright was bound to get lit up sooner or later. Anyone thinking he'd keep his sub-2.50 ERA was going to be sorely disappointed. His xFIP and SIERA do suggest further regression, but it's difficult to project knuckleballers. Especially one that's been getting very soft contact (6th highest soft% among SP) and has given up few home runs.

Whether the soft contact rates are sustainable is another story.

Boston has played 19 more games at home than on the road, so it will be interesting to see if they can keep it up with the remaining schedule being really tough for them.

I give the Yankees a very good punchers chance of catching one of the top 3. (BAL, TOR, BOS)
