The wolverines were so bad they didn't test the gophers enough.

They will still roll. No one as good as the gophers when at their best. Whole team basically back next year. Enjoy.

I'm liking how this first series is going, but not how Joe Nathan looked on the mound today. Walks will kill a relief pitcher.

Nathan likes to throw that get-me-over slider early in counts, and he couldn't get it over yesterday. I watched one of his final spring training appearances, and he had trouble throwing the slider near the plate in that outing, too. Looks like that has carried over. He just needs some fine-tuning, and will be fine.

Very pleased with Alburquerque's two appearances, though. 2 IP, 1 infield single, no runs, and most importantly -- NO WALKS.

There are 160 games left. I'm guessing a lot of teams would be happy if they faced Verlander and Scherzer, with neither pitcher getting the win.

Way too early to be thinking about foolish stats like that. I think KC will be a solid 2nd place team in the AL Central and have a great shot at making the playoffs, as long as the bats wake up for them this year.

Agreed, slow news day if they are bringing up obviously insignificant points of data. Teams aren't exactly going to do well against Verlander, Scherzer, and Sanchez. Dice didn't roll our way in the end so we are 0-2. We have the White Sox coming into town so that should help. Heck, even the Rays are rather limp against the Royals lately.
