The thing about "Boston" fans is they had some loyal Red Sox fans but once they started winning all of a sudden the entire New England area loves them, hate seeing people wear a Red Sox hat thats old and faded looking, you know they just bought it a few years back. Patriots fans are worse, you could hear crickets at Patriots games prior to Belicheat getting there now they all act as if they have been lifelong fans, what a joke, Celtic and Bruins fans have pretty much always been loyal especially Bruins fans.

I still don't think Mauer's contract hurts us. He's being paid way more money than he should be like every franchise player. It's not his fault our owners are piles when it comes to signing FA. Just don't do it.

Heck. It's looking highly likely that Verlanders ridiculous contract is going to look even worse here in coming years.

Fact is, guys tend to get their big contracts a lot of times after their peaks. Pujols and Hamilton too.

Unless your King Felix and start at 19.

I agree about the boston fans......i used to root for them to beat the yanks every year.....once they won, and add the patriots, the bruins, and the celtics.....boston fans can be the worse.....but their teams do win. But i find myself rooting for the yanks now.

I root for Boston. First game I ever saw was at Fenway when they clinched the ALCS. I was 7. Born & mostly raised here so Tribes my home team, but Boston will always be 2nd

Still burned my ass when they beat us for the ALCS in '07 though...

Capt....are you and/or Shano tattling on me to Big Brother? This is a smack talk board, afterall. Nothing personal here....and it is (more than likely) that the tattling comes from the.....errr.... 'guys' on the Detroit Tigers Board that are crying to the moderators.

Anyhow....time for Indians (and Royals) to make a run. The flaws of the Tigers are starting to become a problem. Stay near .500 and let them come back to you a little.

Im not ratting on anybody Iffy. Not my style. I warned a few guys over on cBS but only for shit that was totally over the top from serial trolls

Im always up for good smack talk. But when it gets personal is when I get pissed. & its gotten pretty personal lately

For for the most part I like your stuff. Its honest & realistic (& not always derogatory). Stay cool :suds:

The reason i feel mauers contract is bad is because hes not the 30 HR or 100 RBI guy. Dont get me wrong, the guy can flat out hit. But for a number 2 hitter with little power, hes not worth it FOR THE TWINS. Now if you are the yanks and can afford a bunch of big contracts, then its not as bad....but minny being a small market team sort of gets hancuffed by his contract. Actually if mauer was on the tigers he would be a perfect match. He would fit in the 2 hole very nicely behind ajax and be protected by miggy and fielder. Move hunter to 5th....man can i dream? That would be a hell of a lineup just by subtracting avila lol. Minny should of built a newer version of the twinkie dome. Then mauers bloop doubles would be HR's.

Yeah problem with Mauer is he isn't a 2 hitter for our team. We just don't have enough weapons. He needs to bat lower at least 3rd and maybe further to do his damage.

Tigers are a team he would do damage with as Ajax actually gets on and can double. Angels are another team even though they suck. Trout also lives on base and Pujols is still solid protection.

We are handcuffed with leadoffs of Clete thomas, dozier, escobar, carroll etc...

Got another win tonight though!! Hopefully can get the sweep tomorrow. We don't get many of those.

Perkins and the bullpen are a big bright spot for this team.

After the Sox game we got the Indians, Marlins and Royals. Time to start winning.

I hope the twins sweep......love seeing the sox lose.....the chicago tribune today has the sox already throwing the towel in......saying they should trade crain......to detroit lol.

Id love to have perkins on detroit also......if we still had raburn and inge we could pull off a huge trade.....joe mauer and perkins for raturd, inge, avila, and valverde......cant hate me for trying....it worked when we stole miggy from the marlins. Lol

Perkins deal is too team friendly and we would never move him to a division rival. Crain is possible though.

Seen the twins minor league affiliate is taking a swipe at heat fans. Offering 3 dollar tickets if you enter through the exit and stay the whole 9 innings. Classic. Heat fans = bandwagoners

Big series sweep against the White Sox. 4.5 games up on them now. Stay out of the cellar baby!!! If the Tigers lose tonight we are 5 out of first.

Nice to at least have a comparable difference between 1st and last for us.

Bats are hot, can't let down against Scott Freakin Kazmir. Knowing us we probably will but I hope not!!!

Yep, time for another team's bullpen to blow a game. Much nicer to view that on the other side.

Important series for the Twins as well, fighting our way toward .500 baby steps.

Good luck to the Indians
