When Verland pitches against the Tigers, who do you root for?

Verlander helped get the Astros to the WS...no doubt about that. But let's remember...when Verlander arrived in Houston, THE ASTROS WERE ALREADY IN FIRST PLACE BY 16 GAMES. It wasn't like Verlander saved a struggling ball club. Verlander was obtained because the Astros knew they had the AL West CLINCHED and they wanted a stacked rotation for the post season.
Verlander did supply good starts in his first four playoff games he pitched --- but he wilted somewhat in the World Series.

So, was Verlander the reason the Astros got in the playoffs? Definitely NO. He did play a large part in HELPING them win the WS.....but he was not the LEADER there either.
