A positive note for KC, Minn, Chi,, and especially Clev....

If the worst scenario for the Detroit Tigers comes to pass in 2018...the 4 teams above will have the opportunity to improve their W/L record at the expense of the Tigers. You have to figure that a club with 100+ loses will lose a good chunk of those to division rivals (see Cleveland Indians).
Fangraphs pegs Detroit at 72-90 this year. A little too generous, IMO. The Tigers lost 98 games last year and had JDM, Verlander, and Upton for a good chunk of the season. If Gardenhire can get this rag-tag bunch, he will have to put on the field, even close to 70 wins...kudos to him.

Growing up, "spring training" in the Doug household meant doug's daddy fisting doug hours on end to get him ready for the 'season' of butt play. Doug = Gay

A comment above declared that the Illitch family will soon sell the Detroit Tiger franchise. Anything is possible, of course...but back in September...Chris Illitch made a public announcement that the family had no intention of selling the team.
I do wonder if the family would take on a partner in a near 50-50 split.

As for this poster's suggestion of Gilbert selling the Cleveland Cavs....he might want to take a closer look at the inter-play between Gilbert and his biggest product - LaBron James. If James leaves, the worth of the Cavs plummet. If he stays, James and Gilbert will need to patch up differences. Of course Gilbert might end up being ''forced'' into selling the team to LaBron.

I think it's a reasonable deal for a guy who will be 32 when the season starts. A 5-year deal is pretty nice at that age.
