Tigers have fired pitching coach Chris Bosio for ''insensitive comments'' directed at other employees. It is believed he merely stated that current White House policies will cut off the steady supply of good pitching arms from Mexico...and that he can't be expected to develop a solid pitching staff with only two "Mexican" pitchers on it!
Bosio will be separated from his family and held in a detention center in Hamtramck.

It hasn't been revealed what he said, only that he broke a zero tolerance team policy. Probably racist or sexual harassment, as you say.

I think Kluber's back is fucked up again.

6.59 ERA in his last three starts. He gave up 4 ER in 5 IP against MIN on the 15th, and I was a little concerned. Then he bounced back with 7 scoreless IP in his next start, so I was a little encouraged, but it was against one of the worst offenses in baseball, the Wsox, so I was still skeptical. He got absolutely railroaded by StL's average offense last night - 6 ER in 1.2 IP.

Kluber's one nagging stat seems to be HR allowed. As good as he's been, he's on pace to give up 30+ home runs. Might be because he's always around the plate -- ridiculously low walk rate of 1.03.

I think the Tigers should be able to be well settled in the bottom five MLB teams by the end of their series with Boston on July 22. With the trading deadline scrapping off any semblance of talent they might have...the team will have all of August and September to move as close to the 2019 #1 draft pick as they can. Getting to the bottom will not be easy...MLB has managed to collected several totally worthless ballclubs that are just as bad as the Tigers, and maybe worse. 2019:#3 Pick or Bust

Maybe a 'pep talk' by Jimbo in September would help Detroit lose a lot of their final games of the season...ala the Wolverines.

home runs have never been an issue up until this year (career 0.9 HR/9). 1.3 HR/9 really isn't that high (league average is 1.14 and it was 1.26 last year).

Sounds like Bosio was ranting about a pitcher and then said about a bat boy clearing towels (who is African-American): "Like this monkey over here".

I hope they put him on the DL for two months, then give him a month to get ready for the postseason. A healthy Kluber would be a major piece for any deep postseason run.

I see you Hicks! Worst AB on Saturday that I have seen in a long time. Seven pitches....all outside...all not even near the plate. The catcher was setting up two feet outside. You guessed it. Hicks went down swinging.(Jays had a base open...they were willing to walk him to face the weak hitting Greiner. Hicks couldn't figure it out.)
