1. Indians (in a walkaway) - My pick for World Series Champs (after Detroit **Homer Alert**)
2. Minnesota (based on last year)
3. Chicago (can threaten if the youngsters gel)
4. Kansas City (on a down slide)
5. Detroit (early in the rebuild ... lots of prayers and patience needed)

Stranger things have happened but I think the Indians are still the team to beat in the division.

Seems about right. The bottom 3 in this division are probably bad news, but Chicago may end up being ahead of schedule if X, Y, Z go their way. Pretty confident Hosmer is resigning at this point so the Royals are for right now, in the 72-74 win range, imo.

I could easily swap Kansas City with Minnesota ... one season doesn't prove anything in my book. Another good season by Minnesota will prove they are for real!! Chisox are the team to watch, they have some great talent, young and unproven but great!!

Maybe, but I do kind of put stock into Minnesota being better than what the Royals will be: something that probably won't break 80 wins without re-signing Moustakas plus a lot of help from unexpected sources like Hunter Dozier, Ryan O'Hearn, etc. Can't say I have confidence in that happening over development from Berrios, Buxton, Sano, and so on. The Royals have already depleted their pen of two solid relievers, including imo a very underrated one in Scott Alexander, and lack the depth to replace both of them; Lovelady looks promising however.

Accurate for now, but it depends on what the Royals do with Hosmer/Moose/Cain

I dont think they finish higher than 3rd regardless though.

Might depend on the Sano allegations and if he gets suspended for awhile.

Otherwise, I'm pretty high on them, especially if they can add a SP

Almost certainly academic, but I would guess a Royals team with Moose, Hosmer, and Cain could potentially be .500. Hard to see how they can be much better as the farm is brutal and your COF'ers would be something like Dozier and Bonifacio. Those two and Mondesi would need to over perform expectations significantly to have a chance at being relevant. Long odds.

Alternatively, Gordon comes back to life and you can move one of Dozier and Bonifacio to DH. But, I think that's even more unlikely.

1. Indians
2. Twins (even they're kinda iffy with the Sano situation and their starting pitching)
3-5. Who cares
