Here I am, back from the dead.

Anyway, Hawk was released today. A 3rd LB to go with JL and Ogletree is still needed. Hawk could play on the outside in a 4-3 or play the middle and JL could kick outside. Obviously it would depend on money but it's worth a look.

For the right price maybe, he was still 3rd on his team in tackles behind two DB's, GB's all time leading tackler, I think. The guy can tackle!

London Fletcher was supposedly over the hill too?

A solid tackler opposite of Ogletree could be good.

Nah, I'll take Barron as a LB before Hawk. His career is pretty much done.

Ive always seen him as a slight underachiever despite all of his tackles.

Alvin Dupree hasn't done a 3 cone drill. I want to see that before I label him anything other than a pass rusher

Bud Dupree is a freak but not a fit for a 4-3 LB. I've seen him a lot and I don't think he could cover anywhere near adequately.

Yeah this is what I want to see. He has the speed for sure. ESPN scouts say he's very good at coverage. I think he will be able to do it.

Good call. I bet he's working on it. his 10 yd split was very good. I wonder how fast he would be if he just dropped 10 pounds? He would still be 255 lol what a beast. Imagine... This guy is bigger than Chris Long and faster than Ogletree.

Problem is, he would be a part-time player. Spend #10 on a situational player? That was the argument against the Austin pick. The Rams will play the big nickel with Barron too often. I'd rather get Hawk cheap to play that part-time role.

I know. I think this is why they passed on Mack last year but still don't know how smart that was. My thinking is Williams can line this guy up all over the place. And Dupree could replace C. long at anytime. Hawk might be done. The Packers didn't even Play him in the playoff game. He was beat out. I don't think he makes us any better. It's just a man crush like I had on Mack last year lol

Since Barron wasn't on the team at the time, I don't think that's why the Rams passed on Mack (he would've been my pick, if not Watkins). They just wanted Robinson's power at LG/LT.

As far as Hawk, he was slowed by injury (which is basically why they just cut him; he just had ankle surgery). Sure, he's getting up there, but if he's healthy, he's an upgrade over the depth at the position the Rams currently have. He is more of a 3-4 ILB, but they are often decent SAM 4-3 LBs.
