After consulting with the union, I told the NFL that I will attend the standard meeting with the Commissioner prior to possible imposition of discipline, as has been the long-term practice under the CBA, but I wouldn’t participate in a newly created and non-collectively bargained pre-discipline ‘hearing’ that would include outside people I don’t know and who would have roles in the process that the NFL wouldn’t disclose,” the statement said. “At this point, I’ve resolved my matter in the criminal court; I’ve worked to make amends for what I’ve done; I’ve missed most of the season, and I stand ready to be candid and forthcoming with Mr. Goodell about what happened. However, I will not allow the NFL to impose a new process of discipline on me, ignore the CBA, ignore the deal they agreed to with me, and behave without fairness or accountability. The process they are pushing is arbitrary, inconsistent, and contrary to what they agreed to do, and for those reasons, I never agreed to the hearing. I’m sorry for all of this, but I can’t excuse their refusal to be fair.”

Can't say that I blame him much, this is turning into a 3 ring circus

Both Rappoport and Mortenson report that the hearing is over. Took about 30 minutes. The arbitrator promises to have a decision "quickly".

Also this from Mortenson:

Peterson also requested for 2nd time to meet personally w Roger Goodell via union letter but no reply. NFL deliberating on discipline.

So if the NFL is deliberating on discipline, reinstatement should be a forgone conclusion, correct?

Crazy, crazy stuff...

Profootballtalk reports a ruling regarding Adrian Peterson's reinstatement is expected by Wednesday.
Peterson's grievance hearing was held and completed on Monday. By rule, a decision must be reached by Saturday, November 22. However, one is expected to come quickly from arbitrator Shyam Das. If reinstated Wednesday, it would give Peterson an opportunity to practice in full for Week 12.

crossing my fingers..after this weekend, I'm sitting with a benched Tate, an Ivory who has a bitch of a schedule coming up, a who the hell knows what I"ve got in Gray,a hurt Ball, and a suspended Peterson the rest of the way, trying to avoid relegation.

Trust me the hurt Ball...hurts a lot

He would make a fine Raider because their all things evil image is slipping away....

i do feel that WW is onto something Carolina with their abysmal record is in a playoff race... and as WW mentioned the south may be the only place that he may escape with not too tough a welcome...

I'm not so sure, I really do think the Minnesotans would "mostly" welcome him back. Guy has done an awful lot of good things for the community and built up a lot of brownie points in the process. Sure there's going to be a very vocal bunch who will make their opinions known, but I could easily see him getting cheered at home whenever he gets back. I really don't see them cutting him this year. But next year? all bets are off there.

What I really wish is that it'd just be over and done with regardless of outcome.

Dunno how the hell this is gonna wind up, but I don't think blowing off that Friday meeting was one of AP's smarter moves.

Sometimes I wonder wtf these guys are thinking...

This isn't even a ROS suspension. ..it's another "indefinite" suspension which depends on his completing counseling (which he's already done and is suppossedly continuing on his own), his continued treatment of his children ( how the fuck does Goodell exist to realistically oversee this one? ), and whether he violates the law in any form again.
Citing the personal conduct policy. .which had set guidelines for suspensions ..not this indefinite crap..

This guy has to go. .he might be the end all be all of the NFL, he still operates within the USA, and people have rights, even if they are self admitted douche bag child/wife abusers

Agree with this. Obviously those who held on to Peterson are going to be upset - but with all the exposure and outcries from the 'public' on domestic abuse I don't see where the league has much choice. ... no matter who the commish is.

The court of public opinion is where he has been crucified. In our legal system he received a misdemeanor yet is losing an entire season. Something about that is that wrong. With that said, the owners are making too much money while Goodell is the Commish so I dont see any changes in the near future.

As an AP owner im obviously disappointed but as a football fan im very disappointed as well. AP is fun to watch...even when he goes for 200 against us...

When the union strikes to force the tyrant out, or at least to abide by the rules they collectively bargained, let alone the laws of the land, they won't be making sqwat
