So it was 4 years. . Six instances. . Not as bad as I had thought. . But they do still have a personal handler/anger management counselor assigned to him at all times. I really want to say I can't believe he hasn't grown up yet. . But I can

Going back to the AP case, I can understand the 'why' AP was put on the list from both sides, even without having an under the table agreement of future disiplinary action by the league. AP's image was being beaten up worse than the Vikes and on the same level as the NFL's. As long as he got away from the limelight, he'd feel less heat. And the plus was he got paid just the same.

I think there may be ways to reduce this suspension, but question the number of games. And still, it does fall on the Vikes in the end. They have the option to suspend him as many as 4 games unrelated to league disipline. I don't think there's any way he's back for week 11. If I was a betting man, I'd put the over/under at week 13.

Well, it has to be either the Vikes or the league (CBA prohibits dual penalties) - but that does bring up an interesting possibility. Maybe Goodell is telling the Vikes, "Well, why don't you discipline him?" and the Vikes are like, "I'm not gonna discipline him! You discipline him!"

AP's gonna look so purty in that Cowboys uni...it will be interesting to see how he and Dez get along.

Think he'd look better in silver and black but that ain't gonna happen so to your point,

Dez would probably be okay, but I have a feeling Murray would be none too happy

You never know, it could happen for the rest of the season...in any event, I think this chapter of the soap opera will come to a conclusion in the next few days.

How long does Murray have left on his contract?

For the last 5 weeks or so of the season? Well, maybe the Raiders are a longshot, but he's gonna sign short-term with someone...

It's after the trading deadline, so if the Vikings don't want him he's gotta go on waivers; if the Raiders want him, they get him.

I heard Zimmer "and the rest of the team" would love to have him back. And that it's up to the NFL. Whatever that means.

Seriously, what are they supposed to say? I have read that AP is nowhere near game shape. However, this comes from a columnist who cover the Vikings daily and of course, hates them and everything they do. :noidea:

Will, the Raiders have first waiver claim?

And the hits just keep on coming

" The NFL Players Association has expedited a non-injury grievance to have Adrian Peterson removed from the Commissioner's Exempt List.
It sounds like a motion to make Peterson eligible to play. Commissioner Roger Goodell figures to be next to make a move. As the Vikings have stated they will welcome Peterson back whenever he regains eligibility, A.P. should have been plucked off fantasy waiver wires a week ago. We wouldn't bet on Peterson playing against the Bears in Week 11, but also wouldn't bet heavily against it."

Yeah, they gotta get him off that list. And I bet they will. The normal thing is for guys to be active while league discipline is determined.

But they might turn around the same day and hand down something for violation of the personal conduct policy. League must be terrified to decide anything right now, but they'll probably have to.

Wonder how things went for Goodell at the Rice hearing....

Source: Peterson open to lawsuit if NFL holds him in limbo
By Charles Robinson

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is prepared to fight the NFL – and if it becomes necessary, sue it – if the league continues to hold his career in undefined purgatory, a source told Yahoo Sports.

(AP)
The NFL Players Association filed a grievance against the NFL on Monday, asking the league to remove Peterson from the commissioner's exempt list. The NFLPA cited an agreement between Peterson and the NFL, which "based on explicit language" would reinstate the running back once his legal case was resolved.

Last week, Peterson pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge related to disciplining his 4-year-old son with a wooden switch. Since that plea deal, the NFL has not moved to reinstate Peterson, and has not given a timetable for when it would resolve the issue. If the league reinstates Peterson and then subsequently suspends him, it is expected that the NFLPA will appeal the suspension.

If the NFL intends on keeping Peterson in limbo indefinitely, the running back "would be open" to suing the league to obtain a resolution, the source said.

The Vikings' front office has privately expressed support for Peterson's return, two sources familiar with the Vikings told Yahoo Sports. However, at least one Vikings executive expressed concerns about how Peterson's return would impact the team's sponsorship deals, a source said.

As it stands, the NFLPA grievance is attempting to force the NFL to act. Specifically, pushing for reinstatement followed by whatever measures the league intends to take under the personal conduct policy (fine, suspension, etc.). As part of that push, the NFLPA is seeking to have an independent arbitrator assigned to the grievance for an expedited hearing, which could, in theory, take place as early as the end of this week. This process is similar to the one the league is currently engaged in with former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, and could entail testimony from Peterson and league officials.

Big wheels keep on turnin'...

Adrian Peterson's NFL status will be determined by Saturday, Nov. 22 at the latest.

PFT's Mike Florio points out that under Article 43 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, a hearing on an expedited grievance must occur within seven days of the filing (Nov. 17 in this case). The case must then be resolved within five days after the hearing. Of course, things could go faster than that but the NFL appears to be dragging its heels here in an effort to keep Peterson off the field. A source tells ESPN's Ed Werder that the case between the NFLPA and the NFL "could get ugly." Regardless, Peterson needs to remain on all fantasy rosters as the Nov. 22 date is one day before the Vikings host the Packers in Week 12. If he gets reinstated, there is plenty of season left.

Interesting. .what a mess.

I found it intriguing that during halftime if the Monday night game they had some dude quoting a statement from the NFL, saying they hadn't received the materials that they had requested yet. Funny, they also said they never received the servings Ray Rice video and are still sticking to that story even though there's over wheeling evidence that says they did.
Again. . What a mess
