It really is sad. I get that he has to answer to how he punished his kid but why did he not feel the need to abide by the rules for him being out of jail pending trial? I couldn't care less if pot was legal or not really but if you know you are going to be tested for it...don't use it. AP seems to not care for his kids...just his next high. He is done in the NFL for this one.

Before this new breaking of his bond incident, he was on track to *maybe* having a slim chance at getting his career back on track at some point. But, he has done himself few favors - instead of owning up to his going over the top with disciplining his kid and focusing on changing the behavior, he has mostly made excuses about it, and now this happens. Given all those things, it's getting pretty hard to back him at this point. Not to mention, he'll be 30 next off season, so he's getting pretty old for an RB, giving even strictly his prime playing potential a seemingly short time frame anyway.

You realize it wasn't a matter of him failing a test, right? He went in and mentioned to one of the testing company people that he had smoked weed. His results may not even have been processed yet.

While giving a urine sample on Wednesday, he told an employee of the testing company that he had used marijuana, according to documents obtained by Fox Houston and TMZ. However, it is unclear whether he indeed failed the test.

So, regardless of whether he would have passed the test, he said in advance he had done it. Does this guy have no advisers of any sort? Hint -- spouting "I did it" in advance of talking with your lawyer, ever, about anything, is insane and idiotic, regardless of whether you did anything wrong.

Let me add two more things. First, Sam Hurd is being proven right every day in his estimate that half of NFL players smoke the devil weed. Second, for those of you who have stereotypes in your mind of people who smoke pot, does Adrian Peterson fit into them?

nite....I'm with you 100%. Pot is going to be used against Peterson not much differently than if he committed a true crime against another human. Above, another poster compared AP smoking pot to dog fighting.

Pot is simply a tool for the judicial system allowing the puritans greater power and control over whomever they wish.
