There’s still some FAs available we can go after once their price drops. Then we will have other teams cuts that we can sign to contracts.

This is why it would not have hurt to keep Monty. I would rather see a Mooney extension happen first, but the way these receivers are getting paid, you probably cannot afford to do both.

I am just going on the last poster, I dont know if extensions even count since that would be next years salary. They could be under again, they will be over and balance this out. Pretty sure its a 4 or 5 year average, but who is telling Virginia they will have to spend 230 million the next 2 seasons

It does. I heard we have to spend this money by match 4 of next year.

DE/Edge Yannick Ngakoue and CB Rock Ya-Sin would be perfect compliments to help fill our roster needs, plus eat up a bunch of that excess cap.

My March 4, so this can be in signing bonus money next year?

We all know what Quarterbacks are making, we all know what receivers are making, so it will not take much, either the two receivers if we actually get a passing game with the entire receiver room. You look at Daniel Jones to see a bridge deal for Fields, then its great that DJ Moore is such a nice guy, or he might hold out when Mooney or Pool get that 18-20 per year deal.
Just posting this link since the numbers are faded pink and do not think they will copy, but these are estimates, and I still think if we do get Carter at 9 he is looking for top 3 money.

It would not surprise me if there are some trade offers in the works for some key vetetans which would eat at that cap floor.

Here's a little bit more explaining the $45m that the Bears must spend to reach the cap floor.

Key paragraph:
Remember, cash is different from cap. If you research the Bears' cap space as it stands, you would see they have $38 million in cap space left. Obviously, that wouldn't make sense as to how they would need to spend $45 million while only having $38 million left in cap space.

Bottom line:
Don't fret. The Bears still have plenty of cap space to expend should they decide to make other moves in free agency this offseason. Their spending figures are mainly technicalities under NFL cap rules.
