Jonvi, nobody ever promised you a rose garden in this conference! :yahoo:

So far Cuse is still undefeated. When was the last time a team went through a BB season undefeated?

Ain't that the truth geneh. And I know why. When SU got to 17 wins, I'm feeling a tightening in the throat...hard to breath. And I'm not even playing. Every day gets harder though. I can't imagine how a 19 y/o deals with the pressure.

Yes the boys have done good. :hope: Hope they keep the pressure on everyone else.

Duke gets pitt and cuse this week........could be a really good or bad week for them, they need to split

Duke's has a real tuff stretch. We'll have to keep a suicide watch on douggie.

Your boys and Arizona look like the best so far. But I know the Cuse will represent and win the dog gone thing!

'76 IU

Never gonna happen again. Unless, of course, Arizona can do it this year. Pac is falling apart, and the ACC, while being mostly on the same level, will offer a tougher challenge to 'Cuse

Other than Pitt, SU has played the bottom half of the ACC. SU is now in the meat of the conference sched. It's hard to stay up for every game so when everyone says they haven't been tested, though I disagree with that, SU is about to get tested, don't care who you are.

Yeah. Everybody in the ACC has to play all 4 of the North Carolina teams and that is enough to wear you out right there. Now you throw in Cuse, Pitt, UVA, VT, Miami, Clemson, FSU, ND and GT and you end up with a monster schedule no matter how you twist it.

GREAT slam by Grant in the Miami game. The offensive boards is what saved the day.
Even though you get Duke at home, Duke is playing very good ball at the moment and Syracuse is not at the top of their game. hopefully Wake will not be too difficult and the boys will still be fresh heading home. Duke in the Dome is the game everyone was talking about at the beginning of the year and I'm sure there will be a new attendance record set as this one looks like a VERY tough game for both teams. As I see it; this one is 50/50 and be happy it's not being played in NC. Right now, Duke looks very good and Syracuse does not; what happened to Cooney? If Duke starts trapping Ennis and forces Cooney to handle the ball, this one could be trouble. Duke is a lot bigger inside now that Plumlee is playing good ball and with parker who does everything and is everywhere, the Cuse is going to need better guard play because I don't see a 15 board advantage in this game. Definitely the game of the week. Looking forward to it.

I think SU is playing very well myself considering the injury to Coleman. If you recall, when SU went up by 16, Coach JB had inserted Roberson and Gbinije at the same time. That's when UM came back. It took a while for the starters to take back control of the game. The UM players were hyped. The crowd. was hyped. And SU dug down and took the game back.

This does speak to the razors edge that SU is on right now, but every day they get a little more experience with the reserve players.

No SU didn't beat down Miami like Duke did, but much of that speaks to how unprepared UM was for Duke. And how prepared they were for Syracuse. UM has been working with Bernie Fine during the off season on how to play against the SU zone. They learned a few things and were able to stress the right area's. All that said, it was a 12 point game. That's still a firm spanking.

I think what you see with SU is who they are. They have 7 players who will ball with anyone and their reserves haven't picked up JB's zone yet. Games have to remain under 70 and if they do, the odds favor SU. As the years wears on, the reserves will get better. If SU sustains another injury though, SU will be in a lot of hurting. Till then, SU should continue to be in every game.

Everyone says if it wasn't for Cuse and Pitt, blah, blah, blah. The ACC started off the season slow, but teams are starting to learn what works and what doesn't. Much like Michigan has started to put the pieces together.

How teams play in November and December are rarely a reflection of how they will play in February and March. The ACC is very solid and teams are improving.

People said the same thing about football when VT, Miami and BC joined the conference. Since then we have developed a lot more parity within the ACC. BB will work the same way, it seems.

Why do you think the ACC chose to invite the best football teams back then and the best BB teams now? It isn't a coincidence. Mr. Swofford knows exactly what he is doing. By inviting in schools with better teams than we have now we end up raising the parity of the entire ACC because naturally everybody else in the ACC wants to keep up.

It is a system that has served us well so far.

1. syracuse was an ACC target in 2003

2. SU & pitt have more FB history than BB history and have FB history that tops most ACC schools

3. Syracuse as a BB power is a top 10 all time program. No offense to vtech or BC but by no means are they that good in football. Miami is close but i don't think most would consider their program top 10 all time

Doesn't look like it's going to happen. Down by 15 already. Typical Clemson BBall. Hold on and let me check my countdown clock for football. :L

Even if teams are getting better it's pretty clear the league isn't that good this year. But long term obviously they don't need Pitt, Cuse, Lville, but it certainly helps.
