No, I'm pretty sure the rules of mathematics still apply for Duke the same way they apply to everything else in the universe.

Being ranked 18th, is better than bring unranked. Just because you read some bullshit slogan on your older brother's 15 year old "No Fear" shirt, and though that "2nd place is 1st loser" horseshit was clever, doesn't actually make it true.

Yes, I'm familiar with seasonal expectations. They have nothing to do with the conversation at hand, and it's an obvious (and poor) attempt by you to backpedal.

do the rankings (AP/coaches) go beyond 25?????

is 18 NOT in the lower half of the rankings????? AKA (bottom half)

is Duke being at 18th NOT a negative for the program considering
1) their preseason ranking
2) the top 10 of AP streak they lost this year
3) the expectations heading into this season

the whole point of the original post I made is that where duke stands right now, that is unusually low for them ==> and that point still remains intact regardless of all the bullshit you guys are bringing up......I am still accurate with that notion.

there you go pulling the technicality card. it was pretty obvious when i posted that i was clearly referring to bottom half as duke was 18th at the time.

Last time I checked there were well over 150 D1 schools in the NCAA. Pretty sure bottom would apply to the last of those D1 schools. I could be wrong.
