** Notre Dame is a partial member in the ACC (does not have a full college football membership, it is still and independent).

I created a thread for fans of teams in the ACC, to include Notre Dame to talk smack, post opinions, recruiting, etc. What say you.

Looking at the overall makeup of the Atlantic and Coastal divisions of the ACC (college football), realignment is needed. Here is the current make up:

ATLANTIC DIVISION:

- Clemson Tigers
- Syracuse Orange
- Florida State Seminoles
- North Carolina State Wolfpack
- Boston College Eagles
- Wake Forest Demon Deacons
- Louisville Cardinals

COASTAL DIVISION:

- North Carolina Tarheels
- Pittsburgh Panthers
- Virginia Cavaliers
- Virginia Tech Hokies
- Miami (FL) Hurricanes
- Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
- Duke Blue Devils

In my opinion Miami (FL) and Florida State should be in the same division.

Also I would love to see the Fighting Irish (Notre Dame) become a full member.

"AT A GLANCE", ACC 2019-20 BOWL TIE INS:

** Notre Dame is eligible for any ACC bowl tie-in as long as it’s within one game of the team eligible for the slot.

1. College Football Playoff Semifinal: If Selected
2. Capital One Orange Bowl vs. New Year’s Six

First Tier

– Camping World Bowl vs. Big 12
– Citrus Bowl (if top possible team is higher-ranked than SEC or Big Ten team) vs. SEC or Big Ten
– Belk Bowl vs. SEC
– Hyundai Sun Bowl vs. Pac-12
– New Era Pinstripe Bowl vs. Big Ten
– Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl vs. SEC
OR TaxSlayer Bowl vs. SEC

– ACC and Big Ten combine in the Music City and TaxSlayer, with each getting three appearances in six years. The ACC played in the Music City in 2015 and the TaxSlayer in 2016, 2017 & 2018. It’s almost certainly going to be in the Music City, but can still play in the TaxSlayer.

Second Tier

– Walk-On’s Independence Bowl vs. SEC
– Military Bowl vs. American Athletic
– Quick Lane Bowl vs. Big Ten
– Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl
Conditional if American Athletic or Conference USA can’t fill the spot.
– Birmingham Bowl
Conditional if American Athletic or SEC can’t fill the spot

Nothing wrong with that, except the league doesn't want it.

first reason. Syracuse would throw a fit. They have argued that they
need to be visible in Florida to assist in their recruiting. I guess that's a
legit complaint.

second reason. And the one you hear the most, the entire country would be
upset and shocked if the great rivalry of North Carolina vs Virginia wasn't played
every season.

I awlays assumed that the rest of the country suffered from insomnia and needed a game
to put them to sleep.

lmao, under those divisions UNC's cross divisional rival would definitely be UVa

4/10 on the joke, 1/10 on the execution

If you switched to North-South, you wouldn't need a cross divisional game. You could have 3 different teams
rotating every two years. Only Wake would lose a rival in that set-up, and it would be 3 of the Carolina schools,
and they would have one of them every year with normal schedule rotation.

That Northern Division has 5 former Big East Teams in it.

That the league doesn't have FSU and Ga Tech playing annually, is as stupid as it gets. Ga Tech is our closest
ACC rival. They're only 250 miles apart. Hell, it's 500 to Miami from Tally.

For a league that annually attracts the fewest fans of any of the P5 leagues, the league should want all the
nearby games they can get.

I say put FSU in the coastal with Miami. Trade em with GT. Clemson will still win in Charlotte every year, but the game might make some more money and be more fun.

First off, when listing schools arbitrarily you should post them in alphabetically so everyone sees Duke at the top of the Coastal, otherwise they might get the idea uNC is at the top and we all know they aren't. Secondly, there is no way in all of hell's creation that Duke and North Carolina aren't in the same division of the ACC- No way and no how!
