Are you kidding?

With the 116th overall pick in the 2012 #NFLDraft, the #Bengals select Orson Charles, TE, Georgia

Gresham's not setting the leauge on fire, and TEs are a staple of the WCO..

if he was the highest player on their board I have no issue with the pick

I love the pick. This kid was a late 1st - early 2nd round player. 2 TE's are becoming a staple of the NFL and this kid is really good. Really really like this pick.

I've heard this comment so many times in the past 2 days.

Since when have people developed so much confidence in the Bengal's scouting department?

OMG! He was a 1st Rd prospect the same way Street was a 2nd Rd prospect. Seriously, stop making things up. Considering the Bengals just re-signed Donald Lee and both McNutt and Polk were both available this is a horrible pick.

if the scouting dept sucks, even more reason to go BPA..

it's hard enough to spot quality talent, it gets even more difficult if you place restrictions on what position to target

Polk has a degenerative medical disorder. He is gonna drop. Stupid pick. We aren't taking another WR. We have no where for him with Green, Sanu, Shipley, Hawkins, Whalen. No place for another WR. However now we have 2 really good pass catching TE's who can stretch the field and cause mismatches. All the analysts love the pick, and have repeatedly said we have had maybe the best draft of the night.

Great pick. Love this draft. They Charles was considered to be the best TE going into the draft for a while and they can split him out wide and use him in the slot. he's not your typical TE...more of an Aaron Hernandez type. Awesome pick

Charles was ahead of Fleener until he had that DUI.

I think its cute that people think Gresham is good.

We were just as good or better when Donald Lee was starting last season.

Wait, so you were all for loading up at DT but now WR? You're a joke. You will seriously bend yourself into a pretzel just to take the opposite position to what ever I say.

BPA based on who/what? 32 teams have to pass over a player for them to be available at the end of the round after their grade.

No, We can load up on DT because a rotation makes a team great. You have to have a Rotation at DT. You don't have that at WR. You use 3 guys almost all game. We have that in Green, Sanu, Shipley. We also have Hawk and Whalen. You don't rotate WR's. Learn something about football then come back. and LOL at you the "draft guru" not knowing Charles was the top rated TE for a LONG time.

We don't use the TE. When given the opportunity, Gresham made plays last season Lee couldn't dream of making.

You may not like Gresham, but don't be ridiculous and say the team may have been better with Lee than him.

Furthermore, to the point of this draft, considering we use the TE more for blocking than catching, it doesn't make sense to grab a TE this early in the draft with so many other needs and already having Gresham and Lee.

We DID use a TE more for that. With Gruden here another year I think we will see a lot more 2TE sets where they go out on routes.
