I figured someone was going to take a shot at A-Rod eventually. It's understandable to an extent. I simply would have preferred if it were a legitimate pitcher who did it, rather than a gascan like Dempster, who's ultimately benefitted from A-Rod's escapades. If not for players like A-Rod driving up the value of free agents, then scrubs like Ryan Dempster can't command multi-year deals in excess of $10M annually.

If that's the case, why did it take so long for it to happen, and why haven't more pitchers hit him?

Explain how this is understandable. A-Rod did not physically attempt to injure anybody and the off-field stuff like taking steroids, the system can deal with him. But intentionally trying to hit a player with a mid- 90 mph ball that can hit his head and permanently maim him is not only silly but outrageous. There is no room for this in baseball.

It wasn't restraint that kept him from charging. It was knowing not a single member of his team would come out for him.

They may have waited a minute or two before they came out, but they would've come out...really ironic how Boston fans would cheer that when they had Manny & Big Papi get busted for PEDs...MLB is such BS game now...the players are now trying to police PEDs.

Sorry, but I again can't help but laugh as I read a post about how MLB is BS because of PEDs by a person who has members of the Pittsburgh Steelers as their avatar.

Interesting..I heard some things on sports radio that made some descent sense.

If that was Pedro or Schilling back when they was in prime shape then it may have been ok. It would have been more Fuck you Aroid and I am gonna out you on base and then strike out the side.

No one specific, just not a hack. Someone who actually commands respect, I guess. An established veteran who carries some weight behind the message.

On the Red Sox, Lackey is the only one that comes to mind, but even he isn't really doing it for me.
