Welker gets a 4-game suspension...He has not been cleared for contact that I know of...If he can't play for say games 1 and 2, do those games count toward his suspension ??? Seems to me that in case of injury, it shouldn't start until he's medically cleared to PLAY, not just practice without contact...If that were the case, I can't believe any real Dr. would say he was cleared if he wasn't...Help me out here...

Mikey - Yes, even if he can't play a game or two because of his concussion, they still count toward his 4 game suspension. Doesn't seem fair, I agree.

Goodell needs to give these suspensions up. They are bordering on the absurd. Just $fine$ the dumb asses big time for their discrepancies but still make them play. Ask yourself this: If the number one receiver on your favorite team misses four games to start the season whom does that punish more? the player or the fan? The sooner the NFL dumps Goodell the better.

I actually think they should be longer.... Sure it sucks for the fans but its gonna piss off your teammates even more if your suppose to be the number 1 dog is sitting on the bench because they couldn't refrain from doing something stupid. Why should football players get a pass for something i could lose my job for.

Suspensions are fines too, because you don't get paid.

Drug suspensions were agreed to in the CBA, not just a Goodell determination.

That's a good point Red...and I guess making them play without pay would probably bring the Union down on the league as well.
