I'm not that high on Harris, at least not for the money being discussed around him which is in the range of 13 to 15 mil. He doesn't really stand out despite being on a poor team. He can give you some scoring but his jumper is hit or miss (especially his 3 point shooting) and he's an average defender at best. He strikes me more of just a solid starter (like a JJ Redick type) but not one of the two (or three) guys you build a franchise. I'd be interested at a number closer to 10 mil. Put it this way, 15 mil is worth it for a guy like Greg Monroe. Harris isn't the caliber of player Monroe is so why pay them the same?

I think you're right about Harris. He's a solid NBA player, but not sure he's worth that high price tag.

I think I might be the only fan he has left.

I think its just you and Iggy but she might give that ring up at any moment.

Since he's restricted, LA's only shot is to get very creative with the contract. It's doable. That's how Houston got Lin from NY and Dallas got Parson from Houston. You basically have to look at the other team's financials and see if you can structure the contract in a way where the other would be in cap or tax hell if they accepted it. The Bulls have been cheap in the past so there's a slim chance this could be pulled off. Worth a shot but I fully expect them to match any offer.

Not possible. We have had such sage basketball minds as Wiggy assure us that no one wants to be a Laker.

Seriously though, Woj reported it, so it's likely legit. I agree with wildturkey, the Lakers should get creative and try to put together a contract that will hamstring the Bulls cap space if they match.

Give him a max offer, draft a big, send Swaggy and Hill packing to clear up some space for additional slot fillers.

NO!! NO!! NO!! Keep Swaggy.

Seriously though, I like that idea. IF (big if, obviously) Butler were to become a Laker. We could have a starting lineup of:

C - Towns/Okafor
PF - Randle
SF - Butler
SG - Kobe
PG - Clarkson

You'd have an interesting mix of vets and young guys. There would be some growing pains, some mean mugging/frustrated looks from Kobe, but if that group can gel relatively quickly, they could make the playoffs and maybe even do a little damage.

Then, when Kobe retires, they can go after Westbrook or someone to replace him.

Yep, that all makes sense and would be a very viable line-up, TJF12.

That lineup could certainly turn some heads. Can't get Butler then go for Harris.

Ole jimmy Butler turned down a $44 million dollar contract back during the season and now he has let it be known he is going to turn down a $90 million contract offer by the Bulls. Some of these guys have over-exaggerated opinions of their skills. He'd better be careful or he might price himself out of a job.
