I don't hold postseason experience against anyone (I consider postseason performance a bonus). It's too small of a sample size in most cases IMO (except for guys like Rivera, Jeter and Ortiz, who have at least half a season's worth of postseason action).

But even then, I really don't see how Samardzija is an ace. As long as he keeps this up, this will be his first good year.

Have to react to SSS's eventually within the context of one season otherwise you sit there watching a 162 game season constantly thinking SSS. I agree that I would not bet on Samardzija as an ace next year and beyond.

Hey he played for the cubs, you cant count the postseason experience against him. He should get plenty of postseason experience this year though to make up for it. I would trade porcello straight up as well.

Not that Im holding it against him. Just hasn't done it, or had to do it. The guy isn't exactly a proven innings eater. Making 1,2,3-5 more starts is uncharted territory for the long haired 29 year old.

I would not do backflips if Tigers landed Price. I would do a lot of forward rolls though. You can make fat roll, jump and flip not so much.

I would take landing a starter and Smyly back to BP as helping the pen out.

It will not be Price though.

Impressed me he did not cave in and shut them down after that. Great adjustment or whatever you call it. the early 5 runs not a good performance. After the 5 a damn good performance.

Could be an off night.(Saw he went six, haven't seen anything else.) Could be teams are building up on traits thanks to additional film at this level. But there's good reason to show caution before vaulting a player to the upper echelon so quickly.

The Rays are not playing nice with anyone lately. Taking a series from the Royals is the least they can do after smacking us around.

He was not Kershaw at any point, no more than the Tigers were WS champs after a 27-12 start.

He is going through that Verlander patch right now. Just not as rough. Anyone know if he is dating a model?
