I guess Im coming at this in a totally different way than most. Winning a championship isn't a realistic goal for most teams, in most sports. And Im apparently guilty of lowered expectations.

The Tigers winning back to back games against Minnys AA team to end 2003 made the season feel like a success to me.

Of course. Success should be celebrated, regardless of how small at that point- but celebrated for what it's worth. At least, that's my view on it.

Yes...still true...it's a fun run but if the royals don't win it all..it's just some extra games....and yes still.true the royals v As game was one of the best do or die games in history...can't change the facts. Laker..you stick with doggie..your thoughts seem to be on the same page

I agree, it sucks to finish second or lose in the offs...but as a fan anyone would rather lose in the offs, super bowl or world series than not even make it.

Not saying that because of the tigers or royals.. It's based on baseball, do or die ie must win games are the epitome of a baseball game with the most pressure. The royals 3rd game against the angels and 4th game against Baltimore both won't have the pressure that the as game had.

If the tigers ever had a walk off game 7 or any do or die game, even if it was a 1 game tiebreaker to get into the playoffs then I think you would understand. Teams that have had that understand and the celebration has that extra elation in it.

I don't really care who wins the NLCS tbh. Don't know a single Giants fan personally but I cross paths with Cardinals fans and they're obnoxious. Holier than thou shit, homegrown, blahblahblah.... I bring up Peralta, they shut up. For like five minutes.

Well I like the Orioles a bit more, I am fine with this result. I get the feeling many in the media wanted to spin the narrative however they could to make this series all about one manager being light years ahead of the other...managing frequently doesn't factor into these outcomes much.
And being in Milwaukee I am all to familiar with Yost Derangement Syndrome. There are people here having meltdowns as we speak.

Ha I've probably never actually stated. But I just don't like them at all. I'm just not a fan of same old same old to begin with(a bit hypocritical since I do cheer for the cards but I just respect how they run an organization) and these Giants teams are just boring especially this one. They get fluke runs, the games are blahhh. Shit even the Cards and Royals two normally meh offensive teams find ways to hit some homers and do some cool shit. The last two Royals wins are how the Giants win every game except the giants get their runs late and the pitching is mostly a fluke. Outside of bumgarner and casilla the rest are average.

Add in the fact Pence having a face you just want to punch and Sandoval being someone you just want to poke with a pin and see him pop.

Just a lame team. I guess capitalizing on miscues and not making any is part of the game but it is boring as all hell.
