Simon really has gotten his shit kicked in for about a month now lol.

Today he got 7 outs and two of them were on guys thrown out going to 3rd.

Gave up 5 straight hits on 2 occasions and things weren't worse only cuz of said throw outs lol.

Simon is not going to get it done. And while Verlander pitched well, he is far from a sure thing. I would not trade Hughes for him at this point. Minnesota is awake, tomorrow will be a tough game for Tigers. Now if they found some heart...

I said before the season that Simon was a stop-gap #5 guy, nothing more. He's basically had one good half-season as a starter in his career.

I hate that Mr I isn't going to let DD trade off FA to be's and old vets like Kinsler.

If nothing else DD could get himself a young bullpen that hasn't proven its awful.

Torii Hunter was never meant to be a 2,3,4 or even 5 hitter. He is a .260 - .270 hitter with a little pop in his bat. But what he brings to the young guys like Rosario, Hicks, Buxton, Arcia, and Robinson is leadership. His attitude, his presence, have created a positive vibe.. a looseness for lack of a better word.

The Twins have been forced to put him in the top part of the order due to a lack of good bats. There is Dozier and Mauer. And for a long time, that has been all. Now if guys like Hicks and Sano want to crack the top four in the lineup it allows Hunter to drop to a more dangerous position. It strengthens the bottom half in terms of consistency. Having veteran bats like Hunter and Suzuki in the bottom half is better than all young guys.

The Twins lineup is as strong as it has been in years. Still a ways to go... but eversomuchmore than recent past.
