they were leading in hitting for average & OBP, they were scoring enough. 6th highest. Will say they don't seem to be hitting HR very well, 9th in al Detroit's ERA has killed them all year, last time the era was this bad was 2010, when they went .500 as well.

lots of baseball to be played.
MIGGY comes back fresh for the stretch run.
miggy did looked tired after the hottest hitter in JUNE.
he didn't homer in last couple games.

Well, the more times you go through the order, the easier it is to hit a guy, and with Santana's homerhappy ways in a daygame, it's not completely dumb to pull him if you think the offense can squeeze out a run quickly. Molitor was in a trickier situation than what it appeared, imo.

Not at all. 93 pitches. 3 hits all day. With the guys due up having done nothing.

Boyer and Thompson having pitched just about every game(unsuccessfully might I add) this week.

You ride your starter who is cruising. Davis and Holland already used by royals. You gotta give yourself the best chance to force extras.

He has definitely become the poster child for why you should not give long-term contracts to pitchers. I don't think he's physically back -- especially in his mechanics. His fastball hit 96, his curve and slider were breaking sharply...but he couldn't locate them well enough and fell behind too often. You get a fastball-hitting team like Toronto sitting on a fastball, and the results are predicatable.

how about the NBA? if you can bounce a ball and warm the bench...you can make 7 million a year.
