Against Breaking Pitches (253 seen), he has had a very poor eye (0.43 d'; 58% swing rate at pitches in the zone vs. 41% swing rate at pitches out of the zone) and a steady approach at the plate (0.00 c) with a high likelihood to swing and miss (42% whiff/swing).

Nick Castellanos ^
I'm confused.

Do all those numbers belong to Hosmer?

Or Detroits shitty third baseman?

Ah, okay.

I don't know exactly what some of those figures mean, but I know I wish he'd been traded for a proven player last year.

I have more faith in him becoming a power-pull hitter than a solid third baseman. (Cabrera was so much better over there. If Victor wasn't a liability with the glove and an ER visit waiting to happen Id like to switch made next week when he comes off the DL.). He does go to right with power. Only part of his game I like. Seems like a nice kid though. Nice enough DD went and drafted his brother......

The real mystery is how this guy didn't get stuck in AA or something with the breaking balls. Usually something like this is identified about AA or so and worked on from there.

The plaque for the Wily Mo Pena Hall of Fame, that is.

@broncosmitty in English- Castellanos is really, spectacularly, catastrophically, and mindnumbingly bad when thrown a breaking ball.
Wish I could disagree.

But that is proven daily.

He's also pretty bad on his backhand side. So much so that Ragarm Romine is our late in game guy at third. Atleast he's the only bad defensive player now.

Poor Kipnis.....

(Seriously, a .206 hitter starting in the All-Star Game, when it counts, is not cool.)

Kipnis as well as Dozier, well any 2nd baseman in the AL, lol...even Colon.

Who is paying people to go crazy on the voting?

There's no way folks could just be doing it to do it. Is there? Even a die hard Royals fan would have to realize they have a better chance of playing four home games in the WS with someone other than Omar.

So should Fielder and Moreland for that matter.
Fielder should be starting imo.

Miggy, Tex, Pujols, Abreu could be also.

Davis and Vogt have about as much of a claim as Hosmer. But I don't think Moreland has played enough. He's around 100 less abs.

American League is getting screwed talent wise.

Just wait until Infante officially passes Altuve.

What do you expect from Royals fans? :L

And I'm just saying Moreland has more claim than Hosmer. He's produced better numbers in less AB's.
