I cannot believe that the NCAA did not step in and conduct an investigation into UM's schedule. They start off with FOUR straight home games against some of the weakest NCAA teams around. [Hawaii. UCF, Colorado, Penn State] Their 5th game is against, what should be a good Wisconsin team IN Ann Arbor, before they go on the road to face maybe the weakest Big10 school - Rutgers. With ANY talent, the Wolverines could easily (and probably should) start the season 6-0, if they can beat the Badgers at home. It would be interesting to see the Wolverines - at 6-0 - not be ranked in the top 15 because they played so many powder puffs.

It's tough to travel West and beat even bad teams.

Detroit recently had to go to Seattle for 3 games, then travel to Texas with no off day and play 4 more. Predictably, they went 2-5 on that trip. Cleveland is basically doing the same thing this week (3 in Oakland, 4 in Texas).

Things do tend to even out over the course of the season. We just have to win and it would help if Cleveland loses. Thank God for our optimists like Doug. If he didn't posts some people would have no relevance.
