I'm fully aware that our Bears will be hard pressed to win this game on Sunday... But I have hope and here's why:

(I'm assuming we will have Brandon Marshall in the game.)

Looking more closely at the 49ers win over Dallas- can we all agree that Dallas sucks? Romo's turnovers are the real reason they lost.

The game was a little misleading- with the 9ers up 28-3 at the half on 3 Cowboy turnovers... They didn't score again the rest of the game.
TD #1: A fumble recovery returned for TD
TD #2: A 4 play drive added by a Dallas penalty (two long pass plays of 30+ yards)
TD #3: After a 48 yard INT returned to the 2.
TD #4: After another Romo INT. 60 yard field

That was it... a defensive TD, 2 short fields (one very short) and a good big play drive against a bad defense.

The 49ers defense playing with a big lead still faced 63 plays, 127 yards rushing, 26 first downs, were only 5 of 9 on 3rd down. 5.5 yards per run. SF also had 11 penalties.

In the second half they produced 3 punts and a missed field goal- I Know they were playing with the lead and were playing "slow down" run out the clock mode...but That's not impressive. They could have really closed out the game, but didn't. ONE long drive would have sealed it easily in the 3rd but they didn't.

For an offense that couldn't score in the preseason- they were gifted a bad defense to play against, a defensive touchdown on the first drive they faced, and Tony Romo coming off back surgery without much practice. After that they couldn't score again.

On 40 pass attempts they only got 3 sacks with a 25 point lead...against Romo.

I think Forte is a better all around back then Murray... If we have both Marshall and Jeffery- we have a better WR corp then Dallas. A better TE in Marty.

Jay's always better in the game after a multi turnover game. I have hope. GO Bears!

As for the "only" three sacks "against Romo", the cowboys may have many problems, but their offensive line is probably the best in the entire league, especially now that New England no longer has Mankins.

Run the ball.

Keys. Jay cutler is 29-3 when he puts up over a 100 qb rating.

Jay cutler has thrown for over 300 yards 19 times, the bears have won 3 of those games.

The only stats that count are the numbers in the win column.

I think the stat is changing- sorta... In may ways Jay (or anyone else) would have to throw to get back in blowout games and thus rack up huge passing yards- AND still lose. Now we have the Drew Brees, Manning, Tom Brady (with 50 TD's and R. Moss a few years ago) putting up 300 a game. A. Rodgers... wins with passing. It's the way the NFL is moving to. With the new pass rules against defenders, and lack of running games going on...*yes we still have the read option guys and Seattle can run.... but really how many RB's earn their money between the tackles. Peterson and Lynch... that's about it. Most are pass catchers as much as runners.

Hmm... Vikings get destroyed, Detroit loses, Packers fumble the first snap and are down 7-0, and are getting beat on the Oline... Atlanta- last weeks darlings- gets beat. Our foe last week just beat Miami by 19.
This year is FAR from over. Even if the Bears don't win today. I still see a chance. And that's we can hope for. Looking at the injuries all over the league in the early games- I just thankful that we WILL have our guys back- hopefully tonight, but if not then next week and for many games to come.

Lions 1-1
Vikings 1-1
Bears 1-1
Packers 0-2!!!
I'm calling it!

Green Bay definitely has some problems with their O-line, but Rodgers should come back and have no problem winning this game in the second half. IMO

Hope we have Marshall tonight. I can't imagine running out sets of Santonio Holmes, Josh Bellamy, and Chris Williams in San Francisco. Good god… it's 2011 all over again.

Schefter thinks both Marshall and Jeffery are out.

We're pretty much screwed barring a miracle.

Jesus… what a nightmare beginning to a season.

Both WR's playing!! (not too excited until I see Alshon catching balls while jumping over guys 40+ yards down field...but that he's active is good news- NOW DON'T get hurt more!)

We can't afford another O-line injury. That's for sure. Thank god for De Le Puente. He might even be an upgrade from Garza. Ola, we'll have to wait and see.

Agreed, DLP is an upgrade. I was surprised they even resigned Garza.

Defense gives Jay a short field, throws 4 TD's and a mere 176 yards.

I think that short field is what was missing in the 20 over 300 yard games.

Team win, starting with the defense making plays.

It's the same formula Buffalo used to beat the Bears in Week One.

It's a good formula. :suds:

Let's be honest Jay hater.

Jay Cutler has only had 10 300 yard games while a member of the Bears so you are decieving in your stats. Of the other 10 with Denver he won 7.

Hater LMAO.

Took you three days to dig up those stats to defend your lover man?

I guess it still is not a good record only winning 3 out of 10 games he threw for over 300 yards, but I was just posting what an "EXPERT" Analyst said on tv. I didnt dig into his entire career knowing that half the games were in Denver and try to deceive anybody. Seemed it was an interesting point for everyone other than the knit pickers who's calling in life is to defend a quarterback. I guess I will have to search thru game logs for three days when you bring up a fact some "EXPERT" said on TV that you repeat.

Last night was won with defense and extraordinary effort from pass receivers who were grabbing balls that were barely in their general vicinity.
