I'm fully aware that our Bears will be hard pressed to win this game on Sunday... But I have hope and here's why:
(I'm assuming we will have Brandon Marshall in the game.)
Looking more closely at the 49ers win over Dallas- can we all agree that Dallas sucks? Romo's turnovers are the real reason they lost.
The game was a little misleading- with the 9ers up 28-3 at the half on 3 Cowboy turnovers... They didn't score again the rest of the game.
TD #1: A fumble recovery returned for TD
TD #2: A 4 play drive added by a Dallas penalty (two long pass plays of 30+ yards)
TD #3: After a 48 yard INT returned to the 2.
TD #4: After another Romo INT. 60 yard field
That was it... a defensive TD, 2 short fields (one very short) and a good big play drive against a bad defense.
The 49ers defense playing with a big lead still faced 63 plays, 127 yards rushing, 26 first downs, were only 5 of 9 on 3rd down. 5.5 yards per run. SF also had 11 penalties.
In the second half they produced 3 punts and a missed field goal- I Know they were playing with the lead and were playing "slow down" run out the clock mode...but That's not impressive. They could have really closed out the game, but didn't. ONE long drive would have sealed it easily in the 3rd but they didn't.
For an offense that couldn't score in the preseason- they were gifted a bad defense to play against, a defensive touchdown on the first drive they faced, and Tony Romo coming off back surgery without much practice. After that they couldn't score again.
On 40 pass attempts they only got 3 sacks with a 25 point lead...against Romo.
I think Forte is a better all around back then Murray... If we have both Marshall and Jeffery- we have a better WR corp then Dallas. A better TE in Marty.
Jay's always better in the game after a multi turnover game. I have hope. GO Bears!
