is all the difference.

Much has been made of the phantom flag on Brooks in the Saints game that lost us home field advantage.

But consider:

-Houston is leading Seattle with the ball on the 50 and Schaub throws an inexplicable pick-6.

-Panthers are driving for a game-winning TD, but DeAngelo Williams fumbles on the 5 or 6 yard line.

If anyone of those doesn't happen, the NFC Championship game is in SF and maybe we are in NY.

It's that close in the NFL. Can't cry over spilled milk. It will just make next year that much sweeter.

tampa should have beat them too, and the rams had a shot

Also...

-Niners lay an egg vs the colts
-Niners can't win a game when the panthers score only 10

I know those aren't specific plays but the Niners screwed themselves a few times too

It was just Seattle's year. They got all the breaks ALL year long. They could've easily had 5-6 losses

Well on the bright side, when is the last time a team repeated? Next year is shaping up to be our year with Seattle getting the super bowl hangover and losing all their talent to free agency.

Sadly the hard cap choices wont hit them till the 2015 season they could basically field mostly the same roster next season. We better have a kick ass draft and guys like Tank and Lattimore need to step up big time.

If only we hadnt settled for Kyle Wolliams or Jenkins as our 2nd WR. It is our offense struggles. We got better as soo. As crabs came back

Thank you. You 9er fans/posters are correct about the CAP Space, ALL the breaks fell our way, they really did. I'm so happy, and next year we will battle again. The battles will be EPIC. SF is a great team too, and without our lucky breaks, it could have been you instead.

Again, Seattle was the luckiest team I have ever seen all season long. They won 4 or 5 games they had no business winning in some pretty bizarre ways this year. No one will remember that though after the stamp they put on their season with that beatdown of the Broncos.

Couldn't people say the same about 2012 Ravens, 2011 Giants?

I would say so. Part of winning a championship is luck. Not getting riddled with injuries. Seems on those super bowl runs fumbles always bounce the right way, interceptions are dorpped by opposing teams. Teams can stay relatively healthy especially come playoff time. It seems the following year, the luck turns around and the opposite happens.

Agreed with the OP 100%, not crying about it bc Seattle was amazing at home and they won it all, but if they do lose one of those games the NFC title game is at San Fran and more then likely we win it all. But We have one of the top 3 teams in the NFL, so I'm looking forward to next year, let the countdown begin

Coulda, woulda, shoulda.......worse yet, you are relying on other teams to get your 49ers home field? Come on man!

Like I said, thats the NFL, and how close it can be, either way the 49ers are the 2nd best team in this league. AFC is soft as charmin
