Hello Everybody,
I was having a chat with devs30rko the other day and we're going to be starting a summer series of "hard core" in-depth analysis posts.
Sometimes, points on a specific player can become scattered throughout several different threads, making it nearly impossible to get a total scope of the fans’ opinions about that player.
Our goal is to centralize thoughts about a specific player or aspect of the game into one thread.
What: Strategies, positioning, players, PP, PK, really anything hockey related.
Why: The goal, besides speeding along the summer months, is to centralize points about each player we’re analyzing.
When: We’ll be trying to release them as frequently as possible. Furthermore, we’re absolutely encouraging ANYONE to write a post.
Guidelines: Anyone who has read ILWT knows the kind of analysis we’re attempting to do here. However, we’re not trying to duplicate what they’ve already done. The most critical element to these posts is fact based analysis. Saying something like “Andy Greene sucks and is a waste of $3M” is NOT an appropriate post. You MUST back up your analysis with facts, video, in person observation (not likely going to happen until the season starts), etc, etc.
Note: Obviously we want people to still post their opinions, but keep in mind that you need to have your own evidence to support your claims if you’re going against the author.
How you can help: Besides reading and enjoying the posts, and posting your own opinions, we’re going to be looking for others who want to write their own analysis, definitely shoot me a PM if you want to do one. We’ll keep a running tally at the end of this post regarding reserved players/topics.
