Totally spitballing here, but could it be that Evans is trying to be gracious to Byrd in case he wants to test the waters to see if someone will give him a chance to start?So it sounds like Byrd won't play much the rest of the season, but they've met. Probably means they'll reach a 2-year deal, worth $8M
