This actually might be a slight disadvantage for us...Kapler likes to use everyone in 9 innings, we don't really play for 12+ inning games

Its too bad that Bumgarner has struggled so badly the past few years. I hope he can turn it around and have a couple more good years. That could make the difference for the D-Backs to lose 90 games instead of 105.

Even Barry couldn’t make that kinda difference in a team. That is a 15 game swing…

I think my Little League career was an 0-fer.

I lucked into one double in high school. I was a really good fielder, but I might as well have hit with a badminton racket.

Same/same. I really wanted to play 2B but sadly couldn't hit. At all. Found out years later in the Air Force that I have no depth perception. One of those traits that many other visual cues make up for (but it was enough to disallow me from going to Flight School). The only position left for me on the diamond was the bump.

Why put in your backup catcher as the PH in the 9th inning of a tie game when you've got Yaz and Dickerson on the bench?

Edit: Okay, he's the last righty but do you really want to burn your last catcher in that situation?

It was a curious move and I had the same thought. I wondered who the emergency catcher is.
