Yeah, but like anything else, it can become mindless "tradition". In this game, that seems to be the "don't think, just do it" move.They are really serious about not letting pitchers see batters more than 2 times...it's the future
Edit: and it didn't backfire in this game, so I won't dwell on it any longer but I just think that the manager should have the leverage to decide if the pitcher should go out again, taking into account the team he's pitching against, his pitch count and whether the batters are starting to hit the ball harder.
