So do you go Cain/Bum, with Cain going in game 5 in Cincy, or Bum/Cain, with Bum going in game 5? I am concerned with sending Cain out there in Cincy. He is an extreme fly ball pitcher. Leading with Bum also sets up Cain for game 1 in the NLCS.
This, from Pavlovic's post-game filing:
Bumgarner has a 10-3 record and 2.38 ERA at AT&T Park but is 6-8 with a 4.40 ERA on the road. It's not hard to find the biggest reason for the discrepancy: Bumgarner has given up just five home runs at home but has allowed 18 on the road.
Bum goes game 2.
