Gotta give props, the Nunez and Moore and even Smith deals were excellent, especially the first two. And none of them rentals. FO gets credit for that, I don't think this second half collapse in on them at all
Nope. Can't blame those 3 at all, they've shown up to play. It's the 5 blown saves THIS MONTH. Even if we converted 3 of the 5 (a poor save %), we'd be in the division race.

I think you may be overstating how good these deals were. I think you may be overstating how good these deals were. Consider the numbers have have posted since the trade:
Matt Moore - 9 starts, 1.39 WHIP, 4.01 ERA, 1.79 K/BB ratio
Will Smith - 22 games, 1.33 WHIP, 3.60 ERA, 2.75 K/BB ratio
Eduardo Nunez - .276/.335/.442
This month has been a mixed bag among the three of them (mainly good, except for Moore):
Moore - 1.909 WHIP, 6.14 ERA in 3 starts
Smith - 0.938 WHIP, 0.00 ERA in 9 games
Nunez - .344/.379/.492
I think Nunez is the closest to being able to say that he was an excellent pickup. Smith is definitely trending that way with a great September. Moore is probably closer to a disappointment thus far.

Hell, if they had just converted the save Monday night, the doyers would still be looking for their first run this series.Nope. Can't blame those 3 at all, they've shown up to play. It's the 5 blown saves THIS MONTH. Even if we converted 3 of the 5 (a poor save %), we'd be in the division race.
