Scutaro future batting coach? Can't remember a better approach from a Giant player. Seems to be rubbing off on Craw and Belt.

I always liked Barry Bonds approach, myself.

I don't think you could teach his approach to other players though. He was able to wait so damn long before having to commit to a pitch. I don't know if Craw could even begin to try to copy it.

OT: Houston lost its 100th game tonight. They have a -209 run differential.

Barry could wait because his stroke was so short and direct. Something they've been trying to get Craw to do.

Yeah, last week I think they were on pace for something like 113 losses! Brutal.

And quicker than light! But I see your point.

Barry's swing evolved over the years, he had a noticeable crouch when he was younger - he tried to mimic Ricky Henderson a bit - eventually he simplified it to be almost a punch rather than a classic swing. One of the his swing "thoughts" was to try to catch a pitch with his hands, rather than to try to hit the ball with the bat. I think he'd have a ton of things he could teach young players.

Craw came in tonight batting .267 against lefties. I'd be tempted to let him swing away.

Edit: Shit, he almost made me look good. Almost.

I wonder how many triples a young Willie Mays would hit at AT&T? 22?
