I wonder if there are others out there who agree with me when I say Tris Speaker is the most underrated player of all time. His name should be in the same conversation as Williams, Cobb and all the other greats...

Sure. Speaker and Felix for Walter and your next pick

I don't like felix in this draft at all... Was thinking more like Joe D and my 14th, for tris and your next pick...

I may be in the minority. But I prefer Speaker. As to not liking Felix.... lmao. He pitches in the American League

I may be in the minority. But I prefer Speaker

I mean, different times, clearly joe D is more of a power hitter... The biggest problem with pre1920 players is that none had HR power... so it is very difficult in our judgements to tell if a player was more of a top of the order or middle of the order guy... We can only base it on stats...

I would put him right by Cobb. All time record nearly 800 doubles, career .345 average, arguably the greatest defensive CF ever

Most historians believe a large portion of those nearly 800 doubles are bombs today

Fences back in the early 1900's were much further from the plate. Forbes field in Pitt was like 360 and 370 down the lines and 440 to center

then if he is such a good power hitter then doesn't that take away a little of his top of the order greatness?? I think it might... We all put him at the 2 spot, but do you want a 300+ HR guy hitting 2??

If anyone had told me that Smitty taking Vince Coleman would cause me to trade Koufax I would have said they are crazy!
