I think 1.5 is a solid goal, but we are still going against the Cards with a glorified AAA lineup. A bad-sweep is not out of the question.

However, given the fact that the dogs are beat up as well (Puig potentially down for an extended time with a hammy), 1.5 may be a conservative goal. The Chubs are no joke.
Not sure how serious it was.....but AGon left the game too.

If the Cubs and Giants made it that far.....the Cubs would have a hard time winning the series at Wrigley.....

I think there is a good chance the dogs lose two this weekend. That means all we have to do to keep pace is avoid the sweep. That means we go into The Series down 2.5, which means we can seriously "plan" to be down 1.5 coming out of that series.

Then we start our puff-schedule, so, like I have said numerous times before, I like our position.

Not so sure our puff schedule is so puffy anymore, SD and especially AZ are playing better lately. I presume LA has to face them too. Only Colorado sucks in the division.

Not worth its own thread but Klay Thompson's brother Trayce has an OPS of 1.017 (in only 33 PAs) for the White Sox.

that's a good point. The Turds have 3 sub 3.00 SP going against Leake and #weaklink.

Maybe treading water is a victory.

That's not what he was saying. If we played the Chubbs in the NLCS, you'd need to win 4/5 to close it out at Wrigley.

Not...gonna...happen.

I haven't seen Broadway pitch until now. Kind of reminds me of Guillermo Mota in the way he sets up and in his delivery. Throws a bit harder than the Mota we saw, but a younger Mota threw hard.

I know we swept the GIANTS in Wrigley a few days ago and won the first one in SF a couple of days ago.

1 + 3 = 4 of 5 = finish at Wrigley.

Good luck, fellas. Hope to see y'all in the NLCS. We'll try to knock out those Dodgers for y'all.

Headed to NYC soon. My college friend and lifelong Dodgers fan [from El Paso] and I have a bet on the outcome of this weekend's series: Loser has to buy the winner a whiskey cocktail in a manhattan bar, sing Take Me Out to the Ball Game, and toast the other guy's team.

Actually, if you were paying attention, we got swept in a FOUR game series in Wrigley, not three. However, if you really think the Chubbs are going to a) win in the playoffs and/or b) take 4/5 from the Giants in the playoffs...well, good luck with that.

That's a pretty cool thing, win or lose. Have fun.

Hopefully our teams meet again in the real season.
