That's at least 1 HR given up in every start for Haren since July 19. Ties him for ML lead with 29 given up this yr.

Suddenly, Byrd looks like a great pick up again. He's gotten his free pass for the next 5 games.

This is what he is. A low BA, HR guy. We dont have anyone else on the team like that, so I am OK with it.

That does mean that he is (should be) the #5 OF on this team when everyone is healthy, though.

A little surprised that Bochy didn't run Bumgarner out in the 7th and keep him on a short leash. Guess he didn't want to watch a redo of the 7th inning last night.

Good point.

Bum has looked solid, and at 98 pitches still has about 20 left in his arm.

He will trot Cain and Peavy out there to press his luck, but Bum he treats with kid gloves...

Maybe just preparing for needing to ride Bum like a $5 whore in the playoffs, maybe...

It took s absolutely perfect relay so that Schwarb didn't even have to move his glove to catch the runner by about four inches. You kinda go in that situation to get an in-houser.
