I was never wise enough (especially in the physics department), but one equation always stuck out in my mind when it came to this idea.....

And I was never really strong enough to use a heavier bat
I think I used a 31 inch 25 ounce bat.....or maybe 26 ounce.
Yes, swing speed is most important. As for the mass, usually the assumption is that it's only the mass around the barrel that matters, but when i see flex like that I begin to think we need to revisit the models.
i always used the lightest bat I could find, but I was a terrible hitter.
P.S. it's an impulsive force - so don't use F=MA^2
