I was always against the Guillen deal and I'm not sure I've seen enough to change my mind. Does he really help us overall?

Someone posted a great bit on the ESPN board about how his stats deceive. He has all these RBIs but the teams he comes to score LESS overall with him than without him. He reduces runs scored more than he increases them. Add his subpar defense and you got a liability.

Agreed, it cracked me up earlier in the game when Kuiper said that Guillen was able to hold Layne Nix to a double.....throw in his bad attitude and I'm not sure it's worth the headache.

Liking this outfield defensively.

After that last Guillen AB I changed my mind. Absolutely put in Ross now.

Spoke too soon. Nate S also fine. Bochy makes another nice move.

I wonder what Cain's first words to Cody Ross were?

Yeah I posted that. It was from a column by Joe Posnanski.

However I have to admit, Guillen has shown a much quicker bat than I expected. I just look at his numbers the past 3 years and I'm very skeptical he can keep it up. I just hope they're not too slow to recognize it if he keeps coming back to earth and they eventually get back to Ishikawa vs. righties and Huff back out to RF.

was that just a 1-2-3 strikeout the side inning for Cain?

During games like this, he does seem to get stronger as the game goes on.

It's his main position. He's league average there according to UZR. UZR has Rowand above average in CF for his career.

Just need a general opinion here gp, not a well researched one.....but would you say that a "league average" CF would most likely be an above average LF or RF (under normal circumstances.....i.e. - average ballparks, no funky ones)???

Yes. No doubt. Except for Dave Roberts;)

I love how with super slow-mo you can see the bat flex with impact. Makes me rethink the wisdom of using a light bat.

4 for 4 night for Freddy Sanchez. I have a feeling the 2B platoon is back on hold now.

And Cain still in the game? Maybe just to bunt I guess. I doubt at 113 pitches he's coming back out.

I was never wise enough (especially in the physics department), but one equation always stuck out in my mind when it came to this idea.....

f=ma2 (squared)

And I was never really strong enough to use a heavier bat :D

I think I used a 31 inch 25 ounce bat.....or maybe 26 ounce.

Sandoval has seemed much more mobile defensively in this game than he did all road trip.

Yeah I wonder about leaving Cain in...he does seem to be stronger late, and we only have 11 pitchers. But if he throws 130 pitches what is the point? Isn't Timmy's problems perhaps related to overwork? And yes I do get that Cain is built like brick shithouse and Lincecum like a Japanese girl (gotta give props to Livindisup on that one)
