A lot of times I start to reply in these threads and then think "meh" its a mute point. Blinders remain in tact no matter whats said. So I'll keep it short....

Wasn't entirely the same personnel on the field last night. Nick Gates was back and Sterup was moved back to guard. Thoughs 2 were getting good push up front. Sterup has been at tackle while Gates was sidelined. Sterup struggled in the tackle position.

Cook started 3/10 then went 20/27. He was nails on 3rd down in the 2nd half. He made incredible throw after incredible throw in his two games in Lincoln. Glad he won't be back.

this. anyone saying cook wasn't good or not his normal self hasn't watched any MSU games. he played exactly as he's played all year. he's streaky and played pretty much as good as he could from the 2nd Q on.

He made some great throws into multiple coverage last night. He had a lot of time to get his feet set and shoulders squared.

He coulda had a tea party back there. I got to a slow 5 count before he got rid of the ball on a couple of those. Our pass rush has to get better.

Riley and company need to get some JUCO DE's in here in a bad way.

Not only will they hopefully get a decent pass rush, they will also get up-field and turn plays inside.

Nebraska does not have good lateral speed behind the D-line, so they struggle to defend runs to the outside.

Use some of those schollies that have been opened up recently and go get two minimum.

He had so much time, he'd have gone 10 for 10 from 20 yds in a BCS Dr Pepper Challenge.

I'm surprised the goal posts didn't come down. Maybe security is more strict than it was in the past regarding that, but I remember being at a Colorado game in the early 90's where they beat a highly ranked Colorado and they took down the goal-posts. It was a turning point.

The students pussed out. They came down to the fence...and stopped

I was hoping they'd do it. Screw anyone who says "We're Nebraska, we don't do that"...as you said, we DID do that.

It was 1992. Nebraska pasted then #3 Colorado 52-7.

Top 10 Memorial Stadium games: No. 3, Colorado 1992

It ended a few years of frustration of what we didn't know at the time that Charlie McBride had been installing a brand new defensive scheme that he'd patterned from visiting Florida St in the off season.

That defense gelled from 1993-2000 or so.

I was in the south end zone about row 5, that night. One of the most electric games I've ever been at.

There's a lot about the Husker fan mentality that I disagree with. Guy next to me was complaining about MSU getting booed coming on the field. IMO "Nebraska Nice" should extend only so far as not being assholes to opposing fans and clapping for the opponent WHEN THEY COME OFF THE FIELD. Aside from that, we need to make it as tough to play there as possible.

The team was very young. At QB, Frazier a true Freshman, Grant #2, VELAND #3 (lol), Berringer #4.

Married into my family. Daughter is going to school on scholarship to play soccer at Illinois.
