For a year, we have known Peavy to be very good for 6 innings, and then he falls apart. Beginning the 7th here is not different. A single by the .160 hitting 8th place hitter, followed by a single by the pitcher. 1st and 3rd and no outs.

To be fair, it was not particularly hit that well from either guy. And he only limited it to 1 run.

Great pitching day from Peavy, it's the offense that needs to step up.

I will take this line score any time Peavy goes out. The point is he's a six inning guy, and after the sixth, the wheels begin to come off. And in close games like this, we can't afford to have any more runs scored. But I guess with the way the bullpen is pitching, Peavy going one more inning is probably just as well.

Peavy has been a star today. Not perfect, but an absolute stud.

The bats...

I think he looked pretty good there in the 7th. He wasn't getting crushed, still had his command.

Game not over yet, but I agree, it does not look good.

However, Cain and Peavy have looked great since coming back. Once we get Aoki back, we will be one of the better teams in the NL, and I would not want to be the team that would have to face them in the playoffs.

If Blanco were on another team, would we be happy trading for him to start in center?

Osich, who barely broke a sweat last night, in to pitch the 8th in a close one. Quickly earning Boch's trust.

FWIW, uncharted territory for deGrom. No CG's or shutouts (duh) in his career. Posey looming.

That was a situation where Machi was way to concerned about the baserunner, and hung a forkball.
