Giants break that 7 game slide

The Horse was awesome...the best I have seen him in a long time

6 shutout innings and smiles all around

Pence 2 RBI's and the play of the year in RF throwing out a runner at home for a DP

Blanco and Panik great games getting on base

Bulls in the Pen do it again

Susac caught a beauty behind the plate

Best team game in a long while

Dodgers lose and Giants pull back to 4 back in the West

Time to kick some ass

Go Giants !!

I have a recommendation for you guys...

Re-read the Game 7 thread.

I just read it, and man, I was nervous all over again. I knew exactly what was going on in the game based on the commentary. It was funny watching the Bum story unfold.

Man could that game be more of an example of how much we needed to get healthy? And one more weapon due back.

Needed that, solid game. Is this Posey's team anymore, or is it co-captains?

Two sides of the same coin. But you also have to count Bum in there as well.

If Cainer didn't have that 27 pitch inning he'd have been looking outstanding, and may have gone to the eighth or beyond.
Six strong from Cain. He's at 95 pitches, that's got to be it for him, right?

Just plain beautiful. I must confess tho that the number of pitches he threw in the season/post still causes me apprehension :couch: That SI article from several years about the relationship between arm injuries and the number of innings thrown at a young age came to the conclusion that the body toughens up at around age 25, so maybe I'm just a worry wort :)

If I get off work and the game is done I come here and read the gdt from the start to find the outcome, then search for the box score/recap/highlights.

I had to personally go to the park last night to stop the streak.

You're welcome. Obviously, I cannot take off on vacation during baseball season again.

oh, yeah...and the Blue Mosque and about 17 other sites I saw on my honeymoon. More interesting to me was the time in Greece. I'd never been and I was there for the historic vote.

OXI won.

And my baseball team melted down.

Eli's fault.

The thing I'm afraid of with Strickland is that his heater doesn't have enough movement on it. I see too many fouls and not enough swing-throughs.
At least he's not giving up the HR ball anymore. He's a project for the PTB and coaches to work on. Look how Jansen turned out for the doggies when they stuck with him through the blown saves.

If he can paint the corners like he did last night, then 97-100 will generate the swings and misses. And actually, he had some pretty good cut on it. So, I eat my words. The fastball has good movement, he just leaves it over the plate too much.

Legit question I have, is he kind of old to learn much more? or is that not in play here? :noidea:

looks like the EU isn't going to give in -- back to the drachma. It'll be a shitty 2016 for Greece, but long term things look brighter. It'll be super cheap to travel there and their second biggest industry is tourism. That economy will turn around in 18 months.

Um, then what's their bigggest industry ?? According to internet sources, tourisme is over 18% of the GDP (agriculture 3.8% and shipping 6%, to compare).

I gotta assume receiving loans with no intent to repay is pretty high on their GDP, NO.

You may have guessed that I am in Europe at the moment. Sat before the 'referendum' (which basically asked 'do we accept the conditions of the proposed bailout', which means everybody will have less money to spend) there was a Greek woman on TV who said 'why does Europe hate us so much? We came to the aid of Europe by joining, why can't they help us now??', completely ignoring the last bailout, forgiveness of half the existing debt, and all the payments since 2010. I kid you not.

Interesting. It was widely reported as #2 behind agriculture on BBC all weekend. Thanks for the correction
