I lost Stanton. Now I'm having to choose between Alex Rios and Michael Taylor to use as my 3rd starter. Untenable.

It does. The deal Max Scherzer signed with the Nats has deferrals. He's set to make $35 million per year in 2019, 2020, 2021. But those will be deferred (without interest, I believe) through the 2028 season.

Non-interest deferrals can make good sense for a club, but it seems to me that the "interest" would be built into the total value.

My outfield started with Stanton, Harper and Myers. I was lucky to trade Myers a week before he announced surgery, then Stanton broke his hand. This week I started Harper, Melky and Michael fucking Taylor.
