A six pitch inning. Wow. Just wow. Who the hell is the hitting coach, and what is he telling them?

And the Rox .159 hitter now has as many hits as the Giants' whole team for the game.

Somehow, even dark humor is no longer helpful. :tsk:

Belt shoulda been our first really good 1B since The Thrill. It's feeling less and less likely.

He seems to have regressed this year with his total approach at the plate. The only positive is that he is hitting more homeruns.

The only silver lining is our entire division sucks balls now. Any team that gets truly hot can take it.

This is true.

I guess what we've seen from this team so far, coupled with the injuries, doesn't give one hope that they can rattle off 10 wins in a row (or something like that).

But who knows? No team in the NL West looks too impressive right now. We shall see.

What's sad is Zito may hold these mopes to 4 runs (which on the road for him is a quality start). And you'd think at Coors we would have every chance to come back. But does anyone here think that's possible?

Goes to show how little Giants baseball I've been watching of late. I figured he was doing quite well of late, given his horrible start. Stats don't look too bad. But I haven't been watching his at-bats closely to have a better read.

Through May 15th, I'd have said, "of course". But in the 40 games since then, I just can't get my hopes up.

I want to see some hustle, some broken water coolers, some emotion, not just trudging up and taking two swings then sitting down for 30 seconds until the inning is over.

Zeets 91 pitches, Chacin 53 pitches, that's a 38 pitch difference in 5 innings. Chacin is either channeling his inner Bob Gibson, or it is worse than we thought.

You are impressively focused on certain things...

So just for some gallows humor, who else would the Giants reasonably move besides Pence and Belt if they were sellers this year? I guess maybe Torres or Lincecum but who would want them?

There would probably be a good amount of interest in Affeldt, Romo and Lopez. If we're looking to save some money, I guess Affeldt would be a logical choice to shop around.

I would definitely shop around Pence, but I'm not ready to give up on Belt just yet. I don't think anyone wants Torres. Someone will want Lincecum. Maybe that team will try to find out first if Timmy's ready to accept a full-time bullpen role.

Just more teasing and torture from our team. We get a couple guys on and can't do anything.

I think Timmy could be moved to someone who needs a starter. He's pitched OK in June (3.60 ERA), and well, he's Tim Lincecum. Two CY's and two WS rings, and no 2014 contract. For 2013, he could put some club over the top. I'm fairly sure if we put him on the block, someone would overpay. Plus, he's likely not part of our future.

OTOH, Belt and Pence should be part of our future, and we should keep them. Towers is expendable, and preferably so. The money we save on Timmy in 2014 vs 2013 could buy two or even three quality players.
