The lineup of pinchrunners they would run out there every day in 2008 and 2009 was pretty bad to watch.

But did we have a stretch of like 3 weeks (like this one) when they were unwatchable? At least you could count on Cy Timmy every 5th day dazzling us. This last 3 weeks is like the Trail of Tears.

Honestly, anyone here remember a stretch this bad this long?

Every team has a rough stretch, usually 2-3 a year, but I'm serious that I can't remember them being this ridiculous to watch. 2011 doesn't count because without Posey we knew we were screwed. This team had no reason to be this bad. Injuries yeah yeah but it's not that bad anymore.

They just suck. Like Astros suck.

Can anyone remember honestly the last time they were so shitty to watch?[/QUOTE]

1985, or maybe 1996

Yeah probably about right. So 17 years since they've sucked like this.

Don't worry guys. We're in Coors Field and we are still gonna score at least six in this game. I'm gonna be optimistic.

It's just weird to see their starting pitching be so bad. That's what's new. We've had bad stretches before, but we're used to them losing a bunch of 4-1/2-0 games when things are going bad. And then bitching about their lack of offense.

Lost 10 in a row in 1996, somehow avoided losing 100 that season, as in 1985

After the memorable 1993 season, the Giants were painful to watch until 1997. I would've loved to see how 1994 would've played out. We were just starting to play real well when the season abruptly stopped.

Agreed but to have the offense AND pitching suck this bad? I honestly can't remember the last time...

Expos have the biggest beef there. And Frank Thomas was gonna win a triple crown.

If they play like this for most of July, and it's not out of the question, I bet we are sellers not buyers. Like trading Pence, maybe Belt

...and lose 10-6.

;)

Ah, yes, that's the problem. When we pitch well, we can't score, and when we score well, we can't pitch or our defense goes to shit. We've been finding ways to lose in this bad stretch. We invented a new one the other night when Dunning tried that pickoff move while the opposing pitcher was batting with 2 outs.

The only silver lining is our entire division sucks balls now. Any team that gets truly hot can take it.

You forgot McCarty and Phillips

J.R. Phillips, poor guy. He was stuck batting under .200 for the longest time. A total bust. I always thought his problem was that he had a habit of laying the bat on his shoulder, and thus he had too much of a hitch and delay in his swing.
