I can't explain it but this the calmest I've been about the Giants. Doom seems near but I'm feeling optimistic and not rant-ish. I may need tests done
Crawford 1-26 in his last 26 attempts with RISP
wow, I thought I was out there. Now people saying everyone (except Posey, Bumgarner, Craw). Although I may have missed a few posts but I think completely rebuilding is a bad idea

Perhaps I wasn't clear. This is a good team that is still fairly young and suffering from crappy play and injuries. I'm not advocating blowing the team up; I'm just saying, moving forward, very few guys are untouchable.
Hopefully we are making fun of ourselves come the trade deadline. As in, "Remember that thread in late June when we were all obsessing about moving key guys...and now we're in 1st place by 7 games! We were idiots!"
I'll be the 1st to call myself a dumbass if this happens. In truth, I would say there is an average chance it happens!
Anyways everyone have a good night. Things will get better, we will get back to .500 and we will get back in contention for the NL West crown
Mail me some of your prozac.

I feel optimistic, too. Maybe it has to do with us winning 2 of the last 3 WS. I'm just not in desperation/hating baseball mode like I was before we became champs.

It is much easier to endure this rough patch knowing we have won 2 of the last 3 WS. But I am concerned. The SP's have all dropped off, with the exception of Bum, and even he has not improved like he maybe could have. The pen has slipped. We have become injury-prone. The regulars have dropped off as well. And there are no clear solutions or depth from the minors for this year or even next, with the possible exception of some relievers. We are somehow playing flat, getting behind early, and losing the opening games of series. Even our last exciting meaningful win, Pagan's walk off ITP homer, seemingly came at the expense of the hero, Pagan, who really hasn't played since.
Fortunately, it is early still, and no one is running away with the division, which we will have to win in order to make the playoffs.
No question about it. Before we won those, when you had a rough patch it was another 'dammit another wasted year!' feeling. Now if we do stink it up all year, I mean, the 2 rings just happened. And we can get em next year.
This by the way makes us very different from Yankee fans, who expect to win the WS so much that they barely enjoy it when they do...it's like 'ok we got another one, how are we going to do it next year?'
He's lost out there. Seems like he hits nothing but weak grounders when he has RISP.
I gotta say, again, that this is infuriating. We have a lot of talent, just nothing is happening with it. We are getting key calls and key breaks go against us. If we can get the breaks to swing a little in our favor, we should be fine.
As far as becoming a seller, we ONLY have a few pieces that would be worth anything.
Pence: he is having a solid year, while hitting in SF. I think he could return a top 20 prospect.
Scutaro: he was the key for us last year. His D is below average, but his bat is elite. We may be able to get a top 100 prospect or a nice package if Sabes plays it right.
Romo: he will not fetch a premium package because he is not a horse. Not sure trading him would be worth it.
Affeldt: he is a horse, and is a clubhouse leader. Prob is he is making bank. Not sure what the market for a guy like him would be.
Lincecum: I think someone would be willing to take a flyer on him. He wants to win, so I think a team would be able to use him as needed, which offers MAJOR flexibility. The G's would need to eat a lot of contract to get a good return, though.
Panda: this, next to Pence, would be the prize. He is a marketers dream and a massive bat. He could fetch a top 50 prospect as the centerpiece of a package.
Cain, Posey, Belt, Craw: essentially un-tradable. Cain and Posey each make more some countries GNP. Belt is still prospect-esque, but is at the low end of his value. No way we get value for him. Craw is essentially untouchable. He makes nothing and is the new prototype SS that all teams are trying to emulate.
